2,000 Githurai Hawkers Protest Over Land Grab

[The Star]Over 2,000 hawkers in Githurai 45 area in Kasarani yesterday protested the 'grabbing' of a road reserve allocated to them by the City Council of Nairobi to sell their wares. The hawkers alleged that a private developer has taken over the piece of land. Mary Nyambura, a trader in the area, said they have been selling their wares in the area for 17 years now and the council was in the process of building stalls for them.
