Man Denies Assault Charge

[The Star] A BRITISH citizen who was arrested yesterday by police on claims that he allegedly poured acid on his wife has been charged in court. However, Al-Nashin Sadrudin Ibrahim denied the assault charges when he appeared before magistrate Timothy ole Tanchu. He was charged that on June 28 this year, at Jahazi hotel in Mombasa, he assaulted Sakina Mohammed and caused her bodily harm.

Olympics Star Kemboi 'Stabbed Me'

[The Star] INTERNATIONAL runner Ezekiel Kemboi was yesterday charged in Eldoret for allegedly stabbing a woman on Wednesday night. Kemboi, the World 3,000 meters steeplechase champion, is due to represent Kenya at the Olympics Games next month in London. He was charged with one count of assaulting and causing bodily harm to 26 year old Ann Njeri during a fight outside her parents' home at West Indies Estate in Eldoret.

Murang'a Water Warns State On Sh18 Million Debt

[The Star] Water supply and sewerage connections at major government institutions in Murang'a might be terminated soon following huge debts they owe to a water company. Railways Opposes Chinese Contractor's Bid

[The Star] The Kenya Railways Corporation is opposed to an application by a Chinese developer seeking to include information that was inadvertently omitted in a Sh26 billion breach of contract suit. KRC through lawyer Cecil Miller has urged the court to disregard the application saying it is in bad faith and has no basis in law. "He has come to court under the wrong provision and court should not exercise its discretion in favour of the applicant," said Miller.
