Tourist Hit Me With Golf Club, Says Diani Woman

Nairobi Star (Nairobi)-A 49-year-old woman from Diani is seeking justice after she was allegedly assaulted hit by a tourist. Priscah Nyanchama, a fruit hawker, said she was hit by a tourist only identified as Adams near Diani Sea Lodge Hotel. "I was going about my business when Adams called me. I though he wanted to buy oranges but on getting there, he hit me with a golf stick," said Nyanchama.

Al Qaeda Suspect Nabbed With Weapons in Kilifi

Nairobi Star (Nairobi)-Police in Mombasa have arrested one of the most wanted al Qaeda terror suspects with a large cache of weapons, including detonators and hand grenades. A 6.45am raid on Sunday in Majengo area of Kanamai in Kilifi district saw the suspect, who police said they are investigating, being arrested and taken for interrogation at the police headquarters in Mombasa.

Police Seek to Release Vehicles in Nazlin Case

Nairobi Star (Nairobi)-Police wants the court to dismiss an application seeking to block them from releasing three motor vehicles worth more than Sh25 million to the owner. In a replying affidavit filed in the High Court, senior sergeant Geoffrey Kinyua attached to CID headquarters asked the court to strike out an application by businesswoman Nazlin Umar Rajput which she sought to prohibit police from releasing the vehicles being held as exhibit in a criminal case against her.

Nairobi Star (Nairobi)-The Anti-Corruption Court has been asked to acquit two former PSs, Joseph Mbui Magari and Sylvester Mwadime Mwaliko, charged with in the Anglo Leasing scandal for lack of evidence. Lawyers Fred Ngatia and Jane Githinji told senior principal magistrate Lucy Nyambura that prosecution has failed to prove a prima facie case against former PSs Magari (Treasury) and Mwaliko (Ministry of Home Affairs). Rai said the number of hungry people in need of relief food in the constituency has drastically increased to 120,000 up from about 100,000 last year.
