No Reprieve in Living Cost As Inflation Hits 18.91 Percent

THE cost of living continues to climb with Kenya's latest inflation figures now at 18.91 per cent from 17.32 per cent in September as food and fuel prices maintain an upward trend.

Cop Accused of Aiding Suspects Escape Charged

A police officer yesterday appeared before an Embu court charged with assisting five robberies with violence suspects to escape. Constable Jackson Muoki appeared before the Embu Chief magistrate Margaret Wachira charged that on October 14 at the Embu law courts, he assisted Richard Mbogo Ndagara (alias Iblisi), Antony Kariuki Njiru, Teddy Kagito, James Muriuki Nyaga, and Justin Gitonga Igoki to escape from the lawful custody. He denied the offence.

Munyi Warns Against Graft

Coast PC Ernest Munyi has identified corruption as a challenge in service delivery to the public and said it needs to be dealt with. Speaking during the provincial launch of the fourth wave of Rapid Result Initiative in Mombasa, Munyi warned corrupt public servants against the vice.

Balala Denies There Are Cancellations

Tourism minister Najib Balala has denied that there are cancellations of hotel bookings due to ongoing operation by the Kenyan government against the al-Shabaab in Somalia.
