State secretary highlights need to expand water supply system - Angola,  Luanda – The secretary of State for Water, Luís Filipe da Silva, highlighted on Tuesday in Luanda the need to increase the treatment and reserve capacity for water supply.The official said so in the opening ceremony of a workshop on “The construction of the water supply system 4 (Bita) and 5 (Quilonga Grande)”.According to him, this happens on account of the population growth and geographic expansion that Luanda has been recording recently.Luís Filipe said that the old water supply system abstracted water from Bengo River, and this source does not meet these needs.Luís Filipe also said that it is needed for the conveyance, storage and supply should be developed in parallel so that the produced water may reach the consumers.
