US seeking strengthening, diversification of cooperation with Angola

Angola, Addis Ababa - The strengthening and diversification of cooperation relations between Angola and the United States of America topped Monday meeting in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, between the vice-president of Republic of Angola, Fernando da Piedade Dias dos Santos and US Deputy Secretary, Johnnie Carson. The issue was addressed at an audience the vice President granted to US official on the sidelines of the Summit of Heads of State and Government of the African Union, held in Addis Ababa. Johnnie Carson said that the relations between the two States are currently good, adding that they should be expanded to other sectors, such as agriculture and housing. He spoke of the possibility of the Angolan minister of Foreign Affairs, Georges Chikoti, to visit the United States of America to negotiate new agreements with the State Secretary Hillary Clinton.  “Angola is an important country and we want to establish deeper foundations of cooperation”, stressed the US Deputy Secretary.
