US NGO invests over USD 600,000 in education, health projects
Huila, Lubango – At least USD 650,000 was invested this by NGO Child Fund in implementation of education and health projects for 23,000 needy people from wards Lalula and Bula Matady, surroundings of Lubango city, Huíla province. In an interview to Angop Wednesday in Lubango, the NGO director, Nazareth Zangui, stated that the three-year project was financed by BP-Angola and Block 31, aimed at improving the living quality and reduce poverty in those communities. Nazareth Zamgui stressed that the target group will also benefit from programmes related to reproductive health, family planning among other social demands. The director of Child Fund promotes since May a cycle of training for 70 adolescents and youths of the mentioned wards on issues of puberty and adolescence, reproductive health, family planning, contraceptive methods and prevention of sexual transmitted diseases and HIV/Aids, aimed at spreading information within communities.
