US ambassador visits districts of Ekunha and Tchicala-Tcholohanga

Huambo, Huambo - The ambassador of the United States of America (USA) to Angola, Christopher McMullen, travelled Tuesday to the district of Ekunha and Tchicala-Tcholohanga, Huambo Province, as part of a four-day working visit that started Sunday, in the province. The visit started in Ekunha, situated 45 kilometres west of Huambo City and later travelled to Tchicala-Tcholohanga, 42 kilometres east of the province’s capital city, to inspect the implementation of actions aimed at fighting malaria, agriculture and Municipal Development Programme (PDM) financed by his country. At the headquarters of Ekunha administration, Christopher McMullen was received by local administrative authorities and paid a visit to a children’s centre, where programme against malaria is being developed with the distribution of insecticide-treated mosquito nets for pregnant women and children under the age of five, among other projects. While in the district of Tchicala-Tcholohanga, ambassador Christopher McMullen, will meet local officials from the municipal department, visit a school and water fountain being financed since 2007 by his country through the NGO Save The Children.
