US Ambassador acknowledges Huambo Province development
Huambo, Huambo – The US ambassador to Angola, Christopher McMullen, has acknowledged the social and economic development of Huambo Province and praised the local government for the efforts to improve people’s living standards, ANGOP has learnt. The diplomat, who was in Huambo since Sunday for a working visit, expressed his surprise at the actions that have been developed in this province under the programme of rebuilding the main infrastructures and stimulating social progress. He said he travelled to Huambo for the fact that it was one of the provinces that suffered the most with the war, stressing that he had found a stimulating scenery, so he congratulated the local government on the efforts made in few years of peace, mainly with regard to the recovery of the main social and economic infrastructures and the boost of the farming secto. The ambassador also said that the province will record in the coming years a very speedy rhythm of development and progress with the functioning, in 2012, of the Ngove dam, as well as the the restoring of the train service this year.
