Seminar on sports development surpasses expectations
Luanda, Luanda – The secretary-general of the Ministry of Youth and Sports, Paulo Ferreira, said last Saturday in Luanda that debates at the seminar on “Policies and Strategies for Developing Sports in Angola”, held last Friday, surpassed the expectations judging by the number and quality of the contributions. Speaking to ANGOP, in an assessment of the mentioned seminar, which was attended by over 200 delegates and specialists from Portugal and Spain, Paulo Ferreira said that the objective of collecting contributions to enrich the strategic document was achieved due to the quality of the participants’ interventions. The secretary-general explained that the event served to enrich a much awaited document that will redirect everything that has been done around sport in Angola. Paulo Ferreira stated that the next step will be to focus on all the information collected at the seminar so that in the next days it is possible to present to the Executive the final document outlining the strategies for the development of national sports. The strategic document drafted by the Ministry of Youth and Sports, presented and discussed last Friday, comprises 10 axes and 14 measures, in which it is highlighted aspects such as planning, management and training, school sports, health and sports excellence.
