Ruling party victory to enable programmes continuity - Official
Angola, Luanda – A victory for the ruling MPLA party in the general elections set for this year would enable the continuity of implementation of social programmes. This was said Friday in Luanda by the first deputy speaker of the National Assembly (Angolan Parliament), João Lourenço. "If voters give us this opportunity we can conclude our work and I think that would be fair," said the MPLA politician, while speaking to the press at the end of the 4th Ordinary Meeting of the ruling party’s Central Committee. At the opening of the said session, MPLA president, José Eduardo dos Santos, said his party and leadership did not fear to expose themselves to evaluation and verdict in periodical elections in which the contest of ideas occurs in an open, plural, honest and civilised way, where everyone can express opinions freely and announce their programmes and ideals.
