President discusses cooperation with Russian counterpart envoy

Angola,  Luanda - Angolan Head of State José Eduardo dos Santos, received Monday in Luanda the special envoy of his Russian colleague, Vladimir Putin, with whom he discussed issues related to bilateral cooperation.Speaking to the press, at the end of the audience granted by the President, Mikhail Margelov said they approached the strengthening of cooperation in the political, economic, banking, mining, staff training fields, among other details related to the next launching of Angolan satellite into space with Russian assistance.Mikhail Margelov and Jose Eduardo dos Santos also analysed the international agenda, with stress to the election on Sunday night of the South African Nkosozana Zuma, the candidate of the Southern African Development Community (SADC), to the chair of Commission of African Union (AU).Coming from Addis Ababa (Ethiopia), the venue of the XIX Summit of the AU, Mikhail Margelov said he hoped that this continental body is an efficient organization capable of solving its problems.Asked on the prevalent situation in Syria, the special envoy of President Putin argued that the foreign policy of his country has always striven for solving problems through dialogue, stressing that Russia will ponder over avoiding what happened in Libya.
