President calls for support in finding political solution to DRC
Angola, Luanda - The President of the Republic of Angola, Jose Eduardo dos Santos, Friday, in Luanda, called on Southern African Development Community (SADC) to continue supporting the efforts of the Government of the Democratic Republic of Congo in searching for a lasting political solution to the internal crisis.The statesman, who was speaking at an extraordinary summit of Heads of State and Government of SADC, considered the event as an opportunity to review the political situation and security in the region that "deserves our attention and constant monitoring."He congratulated the government and people of Lesotho for the peaceful conduct of recent parliamentary elections and welcomed the efforts to restore constitutional normalcy in Madagascar.Jose Eduardo dos Santos urged the parties in Swaziland to seek a peaceful solution to the problems facing the country. He congratulated Joyce Banda for having assumed the functions of President of the Republic of Malawi and Jacob Zuma, President of South Africa, for its work in facilitating political dialogue in Zimbabwe.
