Participation of civil society in elections ensures democracy

Angola, Luanda - The participation of civil society in the electoral process underway in the country is important to guarantee democracy, peace, security and development of the Angolan nation, said Wednesday the chairperson of National Electoral Commission (CNE), André Silva Neto. Speaking at the opening of the informative meeting, the CNE official urged the civil society to inform the voters on the procedures to be followed so that they can vote in good conscience, in peace, brotherhood and calmness. André Neto also advised the representatives of the organisations of civil society, involved in the electoral civic education campaign, to remain impartial and transparent and comply with the contents set by the CNE. The event gathered, among others,  representatives of national and foreign NGOs ,chieftains and religious entities.
