Ombudsman praises AU/OAMA meeting
Luanda, Luanda - The Angolan Ombudsman, Paulo Tjipilica, Monday in Luanda termed excellent at all levels the results of the coordination meeting on implementation of the Agreement of Understanding between the African Union (AU) and African Ombudsmen and Mediators Association (OAMA) held in Luanda. Paulo Tjipilica, who is also chairperson of AOMA, said that the effects not only concern the preservation, safeguarding the rights and guarantees of citizens, but also the country's image. "Under the context of the main objective the participants established an additional protocol in the memorandum of understanding between the AU and the Ombudsman Association. Among others, both institutions focussed, among other issues, on the seriousness that all members must take into account of all activities and actions of the memo. The AOMA official also considered the event an opportunity for apprenticeship, as there were people who doubted the reality, seriousness and objectivity of that memorandum of understanding.. Paulo Tijiplica pledged to continue working for the achievement of the strategic goals of the organisation. The coordination meeting on the implementation of agreement of understanding between the African Union Commission and African Ombudsmen and Mediators Association (OAMA) happened on 21-22 June in Luanda.
