Oil industry increases number of companies

Luanda, Luanda – The Angolan Oil minister José Maria Botelho de Vasconcelos said Tuesday in Luanda that the growth of the oil industry in the country has led the Angolan Government to take actions to increase the participation of local companies in the activities of the sector. The minister said so to Angop on the sidelines of the opening of the International Conference on Oil and Gas, taking place in Luanda. He on the occasion stated that this opens great opportunities for the development of local content. The official said that the increased opportunities for development of local content is reflected on the participation of Angolan companies as the true driving forces in the growth of the country's oil industry. In his turn, the chairperson of the Board of Directors of the Angola LNG (Liquefied Natural Gas),  Antonio Orfão, considered the increase in local content production a real bridge with the community. He stressed the commitment of the Angola LNG project to support the country’s sustainable development, through the core business and strategic investments in areas outside of that activity.  Jointly sponsored by the Oil Ministry, the Fund of the African Petroleum Producers Association (APPA) and Africa & Middle East (AME) Trade, the meeting is scheduled to end Wednesday.
