Minars controls 51 sheltering centres nationwide

Minars, Luanda - The Ministry of Social Welfare (Minars) controls countrywide 51 sheltering centres for children separated from their families, among whom 17 are located in Luanda province, Angop has learnt.The data were released Thursday by the national director of children and Adolescents, Ana Teresa.Concerning the issue related to the street children, the official noted that in these 51 centres there are a total of 2,629 children, while the seventeen centers based in Luanda house 885 children, including girls.According to the source, several actions have already been developed and integration and reunification attempts of the street kids. She said due to the economic factors, this integration has not been effective.Ana Teresa pledged the Government’s commitment to  stamped out the phenomenon by engaging in various projects aimed at  protecting and developing of children.
