Maize drying, storing complex inaugurated in Matala
Huila, Lubango – A maize drying and storing agro-industrial complex comprising of three huge silos was inaugurated Wednesday in Matala district, southern Huila province, by Angolan minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Rural Development, Afonso Pedro Canga.Estimated to have cost about 6.6 million Euros (1 Euro is Akz 121,9), funded by the Ministry of Agriculture, the complex was built by a Spanish company.The complex is comprised of one maize drier and three silos for storage of maize with a capacity of 12,000 tonnes.It includes a warehouse of 450 square metres, mechanised transport, water and electricity supplying stations and other facilities.The project is part of three others funded by the Ministry of Agriculture in the provinces of Huíla, Bengo (north), Kwanza Norte (north) and Moxico (east).
