Kuemba municipality to gain new maternity hospital
Angola/Bié, Kuemba – The municipality of Kuemba, east off Kuito city, Bié province, will gain this month a new maternity hospital that will attend to pregnant women in the community. The infrastructure, built under the public investment programme of government, will allow to monitoring pregnant women and will perform prenatal care and medically assistance. The project, with services delivery, family planning consultation, gynaecology and other specialities, also has hospital room with 30 beds. Speaking to ANGOP, the chief of that maternity, Paulina Muambemo, said that this infrastructure will help reduce the rate of home births, many of them made without the follow up of traditional midwives.
