Interclube to play Nigerian team under protest

Angola, Luanda – Interclube will face this Saturday the Kaduna United team of Nigéria, under protest, due to what the Angolan club’s director for football matters calls “behind the scenes games” to discourage his team in the first round of the African Confederation Cup in football. In an interview to ANGOP, on the phone from Lagos, Mané Vieira Dias criticised the attitude of the Nigerian team. An official source revealed that the Nigerian authorities have demanded a payment of a fine of USD 21,000, on the grounds that the plane that carried the Angolan delegation landed without authorisation and stayed on the highway longer than allowed. Meanwhile, Interclube squad were stranded in Lagos for about an hour, before leaving for Kaduna City. Interclube are in Group A of the mentioned competition.
