Inauguration of Luanda Jazz Festival considered worthwhile

Angola, Luanda - The inauguration of Luanda International Jazz Festival on Friday at Luanda’s Atlantico cinema by the saxophonist Maceo Parker was considered worthwhile. With his swagger and improvisation, Parker showed his experience and sizzling sound, almost a reincarnation of what he used to do with James Brown and Parliament-Funkadelic band in 1960s and 1970s. The music of Parker in Luanda Jazz Festival was without a doubt an excellent concert of Funk and Soul, as described to Angop by the Angolan Jazz critic Jerome Belo. The festival also counted on the performance of the Cameroonian Etinne Mbapp, Angolans Aline Frazão, Totó and Nigerian Asa, among others.
