IDF concerned with forest devastation in Matala

Matala, Matala – The illegal exploration of coal, burning and cutting of trees for other goals are actions which are devastating forests. This wasa said to Angop on Tuesday by the head of Forest Development Institute (IDF) in district of Matala, Carlos Ndala.   According to him, is necessary for the society to help in the preservation of forests, by denouncing actions which damage the environment. Carlos Ndala stressed that despite the difficulties of lack of transport, IDF in Matala has been working in forest and fauna inspection, as well as production of various species of trees. He said that the institute has also been assessing the existence of various wild species and holding of awareness campaign on the use of forest resources in the rural communities. The official stressed that they have been also working in districts of Chicomba and Jamba for being the areas with intensive illegal production of coal.
