Human rights under analysis in Lunda Norte
Lunda Norte, Dundo - The State secretary for Human Rights, Antonio Bento Bembe, is working since Monday, in the province of Lunda Norte, to assess with the local authorities issues inherent in the sector in the eastern region. We are here in Dundo in order to verify and make an assessment of the progress achieved after our first visit we made to this province in 2009," he said. Bento Bembe said he scheduled working meetings with officials from the Ministry of the Interior, commanders of National Police and the FAA, the directors of Prison Services, Migration Affairs, among other social actors to jointly examine the role of each one in relation the promotion and protection of human rights. According to a member of the Executive, the province of Lunda Norte has been pointed out in recent weeks, as the most problematic with regard to human rights violations in mining areas, the issue will lead to some areas in order to verify on the ground accuracy of the facts.
