Frescangol cold store grows in capacity
Luanda, Luanda – A new cold store complex for conservation of perishable goods was inaugurated Friday in Luanda by the minister of Agriculture, Rural Development and Fisheries, Afonso Pedro Canga.The facility was launched to expand to 500 tonnes the capacity of the perishable conservation company, Frescangol, according to the minister.After the inauguration, the minister told journalists that the complex will also help reduce the constraints facing producers in the processing, conservation and trade of their goods with reasonable quality.“The inauguration of this unit is one more step for producers to have guarantees that their product will be traded and consumers will have the guarantee that they are buying a product of quality,” he said. According to the Agriculture minister, cold store complexes will also be built in the 18 provinces of the country, in an effort to reduce the damages suffered by producers as a result of deterioration of their products. The perishable goods conservation complex was established under a public investment, as part of the programme of relaunch of Frescangol.The inauguration ceremony was witnessed by the deputy minister of Commerce, Archer Mangueira, representatives of the Ministry of Economy, of Cazenga district administration and Agriculture Ministry officials.
