Foreign electoral observers told to respect host country's sovereignty
Luanda, Luanda - The foreign observers of the electoral process should recognise and respect the sovereignty of the host country and remain independent and impartial by conducting a thorough observation. The fact was stated by the representative of the International NGO, Search for Common Ground (SFCG), Karl Frederick Paul-Estrada, who was speaking to Angop on the role of civil society in the electoral process underway in the country. Karl Frederick Paul-Estrada also said that the international observers must bear the identification documents required by the host government or the National Electoral Commission (CNE) in order to carry out their activities legally. On the other hand, the official said that the observers should conduct their activities without interfering in the electoral process, the election procedures, or the calculation and compilation of the results.
