FAO presents agrarian systems diagnosis project

Caála, Caála – The United Nations Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO) Tuesday in Caála municipality, 23 kilometres west of Huambo city (centre), presented the agrarian systems diagnosis project designed to support the Government in boosting the community’s social and economic development.The project that will be implemented in three months, aims at improving the management of land tenure and other natural resources for the wellbeing of the population.According to FAO land project coordinator in Huambo, Francisco Carranza, the project will draft a document containing information on the peasant families’ agronomic systems, the social aspect and other actions of the farming activity in the rural community.  In the diagnosis of the agrarian systems, technicians will analyse the bio-physical situation, agrarian records, peasant women, natural, agro-ecological, and techno-economic resources during the project’s process of research that will be expanded to the municipality of Bailundo, some 75 kilometres north of Huambo city.
