FAA senior officer appeals for strengthening of national cohesion

Luanda, Luanda - The assistant chief of staff of the Angolan Armed Forces for patriotic education, general Egídio de Sousa Santos "Disciplina", Friday stressed the importance of patriotism, the strengthening of national cohesion with a view to ensure the peace, security and the stability of the country. The senior officer of the Angolan armed forces was speaking during a conference held in Luena, eastern Moxico province, promoted by the general staff and commands of the threebranches of FAA (Army, Air Force and Navy). The event is intended to equip the officers, sergeants, low ranks officers and navy. According to him, the patriotism is defined as a sense of love to the motherland and is a civic and military virtue, which demands blood of the sons by its dignity". The general also defended the national unity and expression of recognition based on the cultural commun values such as territory, language and wealth. Alluding to the protests, unrests, clashes and wars that hit recently some African countries, such as Tunisia, Egypt, Libya, among others, the general said that those events are practical examples that when associated with the cases of the world terrorism can threaten the peace and stability, meanly, of the countries that emerged recently from long-running wars, like Angola.
