Executive assures water supply

Angola, Luanda – The minister of Energy and Water, João Baptista Borges, Friday, here, reiterated that the government will continue giving priority to the supply of water to the population. He said this in the opening ceremony of the 8th balance assessment meeting of the programme water for everybody, assuring that the executive established as priority providing water supply for the community, to guarantee people’s well-being and better public health assistance. According to the minister, this objective will be attained by a generalised access to the services of water supply, as well as implementing an efficient work of collecting a safe treatment of the waste waters. Despite of the Executive’s efforts, the government official recognised that yet there are many difficulties on the water supply, at certain extends, because of the armed conflict that provoked physical and operational damage of the water supply system. The meeting, planned to end on Saturday, is being attended by the secretary of state of waters, Luís Filipe da Silva, national and provincial directors of the sector, officials of the company’s partners of the Energy and Water Ministry, among other invited entities.
