European Commission head expected Thursday in Luanda

Luanda, Luanda - The chairman of the European Commission, José Manuel Durão Barroso, is expected on Thursday in Angola for an official visit at the invitation of the Angolan Executive. A press note from the Foreign Affairs Ministry says that Durão Barroso will be received in an audience by the Angolan Head of State, José Eduardo dos Santos, as well as the Speaker of the National Assembly, António Paulo Kassoma. He will also visit the projects funded by the European Union (EU) and the state-run Agostinho Neto University. The visit aims at strengthening the existing co-operation between the EU and Angola and will be a moment to sign a strategic partnership accord.
