Employers must meet regularly - Union official
Angola, Luanda – The secretary general of the Angolan Trade Union (UNTA-CS), Manuel Augusto Viage, Monday in Luanda appealed to employers to hold regular meetings to exchange experience and promote a more active job market in various sectors. The official was speaking on the fringes of a meeting on “Job Market Data” sponsored by the Ministry of Public Administration, Employment and Social Security (MAPESS).Manuel Viage stressed that only with regular meetings employers might have a wider view of how the national job market stands. According to the UNTA-CS official, it is a privilege for him to attend the meeting as, he added, it enables to have an exact number of people who have gained a job in various sectors of the country’s activity during a certain period of time. He said the data presented somehow reflect satisfactory results despite the adversities of the external conjuncture during about three years and the impact on the national economy. The event is meant for an exchange of experience in the handling of job market data, consolidation of procedures in the gathering and treatment of job data and evaluation of the figures of the job market in the 2009/2012 period. The meeting closing on Tuesday is being attended by directors of offices of study, planning and statistics of MAPESS provincial representatives.
