Electoral Registration File delivered to Constitutional Court

Angola, Luanda – A copy of the Computerised Electoral Registration File (FICRE) was delivered Thursday in Luanda by the interim chairman of the National Electoral Commission (CNE), Edeltrudes Costa, to the presiding judge of the Constitutional Court, Rui Ferreira. On the occasion, the judge thanked the CNE for its quick response as the Constitutional Court has the legal responsibility to receive and validate the files on the election candidates. He recalled that in terms of the Constitution, the candidates to the Presidency of the Republic, to the Vice Presidency of the Republic and to Parliament shall be Angolan citizens registered as voters. The judge said that through the FICRE the Court will be in a position to check the compliance with above mentioned law. In his turn, CNE interim president, Edeltrudes Costa, said the decision to respond to the demand from the Constitutional Court, followed a plenary session of the organ he leads.
