Cabinet Council extraordinary session kicks off

Menongue, Menongue – The extraordinary session of the Standing Commission of the Cabinet Council started on Thursday at 10h30 on the premises of the government of the eastern Kuando Kubango province, under the guidance of the Angolan President, José Eduardo dos Santos. The Angolan Head of State arrived early in this morning to Menongue district so as to chair the referred meeting. The closed-door meeting is being attended by Angolan vice-president, Fernado da Piedade dos Santos, officials of the central and local governments. The meeting, to end on Thursday, is discussing issues related to social, economic and productive aspects that are aimed for the development of Kuando Kubango province. At the end of the first extraordinary session of the Permanent Commission of the Cabinet Council, José Eduardo dos Santos is expected to visit some local economic infrastructures and meet clerics and chieftains of the region. This is the first time the Standing Commission of the Cabinet Council is meeting outside of Luanda province. José Eduardo dos Santos is returning to Luanda on Thursday afternoon.
