British under secretary for Energy, Climate Change jets in
Angola, Luanda – The Parliamentary Under Secretary of State for Energy and Climate Change and Chairman of the British Business Ambassadors by UK Trade and Investment (UKTI), Lord Marland, arrived Wednesday in Luanda for a two-day visit to Angola.According to a note from the British Embassy to Angola delivered to Angop, the visit is intended to strengthen the relations between UK and Angola.Speaking to the Angop at Luanda's "4 de Fevereiro" International Airport, the visiting British official said that during his visit, his first to Angola, he will discuss with the local authorities matters related to environment and energy sectors.Lord Marland said he is aware of the existence of many climate changes in Angola, adding that this is one among the aspects he will analyse with the Angolan minister of Environment, Fátima Jardim.As part of the programme, Lord Marland will meet with the ministers of Environment, Finance, Energy and Water and Trade, respectively Fátima Jardim, Carlos Alberto Lopes, João Baptista Borges and Maria Idalina de Oliveira Valente. The British officials will also hold talks with the director of the National Agency of Private Investment (ANIP), Maria Luísa Perdigão Abrantes, the vice minister of Oil, Anibal Silva and with representatives of local and foreign companies operating in Angola.
