Bié vice governor ensures support for theatre development

Angola, Kuito – The vice governor for political and social matters of the central Bié province, Carlos Ulombe da Silva, guaranteed on Saturday in Kuito city support of the local executive to theatre groups, aiming for the development of the scenic arts in the region. The official said so during the opening act of the provincial theatre festival in Kuito city. According to him, theatre is an illustrative art for the emancipation of the Angolan culture.   Carlos da Silva also said that theatre represents the Angolan culture that has been playing an important and relevant role in order to keep the identity of a people. The official recognised the existence of various theatre groups in Bié province that strive in order to materialise several activities so as to portray aspects aiming to retrieve cultural, moral and civic values in the society.
