Autonomous inclusion in code of domestic violence crime defended

Huambo, Huambo – The judicial magistrates and public prosecutors in the provinces of  Huambo, Bié and Kuando Kubango, gathered on July 01-02 in this city, recommended the need for the Domestic Violence Crime to be autonomously included in the Penal Code, as well as the clarification of the penalty for the crime related to mistakes made during medical interventions  The participants also recommended the need to include in the Penal Code the criminal liability of corporations (artificial persons in general), especially for the prevention and punishment of activities like organised crime, financial frauds, terrorism and money laundering. During the heated debate on the new Penal Code Bill the participants agreed with the reduction of the criminal liability age from 16 to 14.  The specialists also recommended a clarification about the situations in which the judge can choose a prison sentence over a fine and vice versa as primary penalty. It was equally  recommended the inclusion of the House Arrest penalty.   This public discussion on the Penal Code Bill was also attended by MPs, university lecturers, justice departments staffs and members of the civil society.
