Authorities control 3,027 indigenous people

Cunene,  Ondjiva - Some 3,027 people from the Khoisan and Vatuas ethnic groups, located in Kwanhama, Ombadja, Namacunde, Cuvelai and Curoca districts are under control of the authorities of the southern Cunene province, Angop has learnt. This was said by the acting director of social welfare in Cunene, Constantino Lucas Nande, who said that a survey is under progress to know the real figure. Speaking in allusion of the indigenous people day, marked on Monday, he said the work has been done in partnership with the local administrations and Chieftains. Out of this number, he said, 2,147 are Vatuas people representing 429 families and 880 Khoisan people, grouped into 179 families.
