AU commissioner for political affairs jets in

Angola,  Luanda - The Commissioner for Political Affairs of the African Union (AU), Julia Dolly Joiner, arrived Wednesday in Luanda to attend from 20-25 June the meeting that will discuss the implementation of the Agreement of Understanding between her institution and African Ombudsman and Mediators Association (AOMA). Julia Dolly Joiner is leading a high-level delegation of AU, comprising four officials, including the Director of Legal Office of the African Union, Ben M. Kioko, who were greeted at the airport in Luanda by the current chairman of AOMA, the Angolan Paulo Tjipilica.On the meeting, the official said that the cooperation between the two institutions is being implemented in a positive way, adding that at the African Union the AOMA work will benefit the performance of the Union itself.In his turn, the director of Legal Office of the African Union, reconfirmed that the implementation of the Agreement between the AU and AOMA is being done in a "positive" way.According to him, the institution is ready to carry out such joint work for the promotion of the rights and guarantees of citizens.To this reason, he announced that the Union will hold several joint activities, including seminars, conferences, lectures and other meetings in order to disseminate the proposals of the Memorandum of Understanding, particularly to promote good governance in African continent.After welcoming the visiting delegation, Paulo Tjipilica told the press that the meeting  will analyse the current situation and cooperation fields, under the memorandum of understanding between AOMA and AU.
