Angola, Luanda – The Angolan attorney general, João Maria de Sousa, Thursday in Luanda, called on magistrates for tighter action and major involvement in the juridical education of the population, prevention of crime and control of prisons.João Maria de Sousa who was addressing the yearend compliments ceremony, said so in view of the high and rising rate of crime.According to João Maria de Sousa, magistrates and police officers must understand this phenomenon and believe that crime cases can have a happy ending even when the actor of a certain crime is not imprisoned. He said it is not the prison that settles the conflict, as only those whose crime actually meets the requirement for imprisonment, should have their freedom thwarted.
