Art and Culture Foundation celebrates June 1 with hundred children
Luanda, Luanda – The Art and Culture Foundation has hosted Friday in Luanda a cultural evening to celebrate the International Children Day (June 1) with about one hundred children living in the vicinity of its headquarters, in Ingombota neighbourhood. The event was intended to provide the children with moments of joy, with the kids showing their talents and play musical instruments. To this end, the event included a show by “Kudissanga é a Raiz” band featuring children to play drums, and a workshop for attending kids to create their own percussion instruments, through the re-utilisation of recyclable materials like plastic and can artefacts for decoration. With the event, the Art and Culture Foundation also seeks to ensure the children wellbeing through moments of entertainment and learning. The Foundation is everyday visited by children and teenagers that have the opportunity to read, write and tell tales, draw, paint and use Internet-connected computers. Established in 2006, the Art and Culture Foundation is a social contribution of Mitrelli Group in Angola and has as its purpose to help in the preservation and promotion of Angolan cultural, artistic and historical manifestations, providing a forum for culture, education for arts and special projects of community character.
