Army commander calls for non-partisanship at barracks

Benguela, Benguela - The second army commander, general Gouveia de Sá Miranda, urged on Friday in Benguela province the observance of the principles of neutrality and non-partisanship of the Angolan Armed Forces (FAA) during the electoral process. According to the commander, who spoke on the sidelines of the closing of the first course for the promotion of sergeants, captains and other officers, in accordance with the law, they should make all the arrangements for party emotions not to be taken to barracks and obey uniquely and exclusively the higher provisions instructed by the senior officers of the Angolan Armed Forces. He considered these election era, as a period of great responsibility for all the military so that the influences arising from the campaign will not be reflected on the state of military discipline and cohesion of the non-partisan nature of the armed forces.
