Armed Forces chief pledges housing for staff

Angola, Lubango – The chief of Staff of the Angola Armed Forces (FAA), gen. Geraldo Sachipengo Nunda, Monday in Lubango, southern Huila province, pledged to endeavour for the staff to be provided with houses. The officer was speaking at the launch of the project of construction of 4,000 houses in the new Eywa city, in Lubango.Gen. Sachipengo Nunda said FAA will provide all assistance to the staff in the construction or purchase of houses. He said that under its social programme, FAA will build a number of houses he would not name for the staff, mainly for those who have never owned one.  Geraldo Sachipengo Nunda stated that this is intended to improve the soldiers’ social and economic condition as many of them have never had the opportunity to own one due to the armed conflict that ravaged the country for decades.  The ceremony was witnessed by Huila governor, Isaac dos Anjos, the minister of  Ex-Combatants and Motherland Veterans, Kundy Paihama, the National Police commander, comissioner, Ambrósio de Lemos, and other guests.
