Angola at election of new ILO director general
Suisse, Geneva - Angola attended Monday the election of the new director general of the International Labour Organisation (ILO), the British Guy Ryder, in a session held in Geneva (Switzerland). Guy Ryder, whose candidacy was presented by the working members of the Managing Board, beat the candidates from Africa: Ibrhaim Mayadi (Niger), Assane Diop (Senegal) and Charles Dan (Benin). The new Director-General, who was elected at the 314th Session of the Council will come into office next October for five-year term. Angola attended the election of the director general in the quality of deputy member of Managing Board of the International Labour Organisation.
