Angola at 2011 IAS Conference
Italy, Rome - The Sixth International Conference on HIV Pathogenesis, Treatment and Prevention (IAS 2011) kicked off this Sunday in the presence of 5,000 delegates from all over the world. This year's conference promises an interesting and diversified collection of presentations and session, covering a wide range of issues relating to HIV, including the new treatment, prevention and practical research. The event shall be mainly focussed on treatment as prevention and on the use of antiretroviral such as the Pre-exposure Prophylaxis (Prep). The last day shall be highlighted by the release of the results from a Prep study carried out in Botswana. The IAS is chaired by Eh Elly Katabira. Angola is attending the event with a delegation being led by the director of the national programme of fight against AIDS, Dulcelina Serrano.
