Ambassador hails Angolans maturity

Rome, Rome – Angola's ambassador to Italy and to UN agencies in Rome, Florêncio de Almeida, on Wednesday said that April 04 (Peace Day) reveals the maturity and posture of the Angolan people, thereby opening a way for sociability with  tolerance and respect to differences.  Speaking during the event that marked the 10th anniversary of peace and national reconciliation in Angola, the ambassador added that on this day Angolans surpassed all the trajectory of a past of hate and suffering and projected, above of all, the nation and focussed on reconciliation. "In 10 years of this historic moment, alongside November 11, 1975, national independence day, Angola inserts now April 04 in the annals of the history of the Angolan people, among the celebrations the link to its identity and its ideal of liberty", he added. The diplomat also said that with the ceasing of the armed conflict, a new and decisive page opened in the history of the Angolan people who seek to consolidate national unity, reconstruction and development.
