Admiral urges soldiers to be non-partisan

Benguela, Lobito - The commander of the Angolan Navy (MGA), Admiral Augusto da Silva Cunha, advised Friday the soldiers at Southern Naval Base, in Lobito, southern Benguela province to become non-partisan as defenders of the institutions of democratic abiding State. Speaking at the opening of national event of the 2012/2013 instruction of combative preparation and patriotic education year, at MGA, the senior officer advocated that the military members as non-partisan should ensure that the elections are held in an atmosphere of peace and tranquillity. "The military should be example in respect to the principles of democracy, particularly this year (2012) in which the country will hold the elections," he advised. However, the commander urged the staff to be more vigilant in order to avoid the criminal acts via river. He defended the needy to maintaining discipline, combat and operational capability of troop. The opening ceremony of the event gathered members of managing board of branch from naval zones.
