Accidents among public health concerns
Angola , Luanda - The chairperson of Medical Order of Angola, Carlos Pinto de Sousa, said Wednesday in Luanda that the increase of non-communicable chronic diseases coupled with the accidents have turned into a public health problem in Angola.The Medical association official was speaking at the 6th Scientific Meeting organised by Josina Machel Hospital (HJM) on the theme "Accidents and chronic noncommunicable diseases.The chairperson said that the causes of accidents are based on a dynamic which involves many factors that affect families, which directly or indirectly have social, economic and environmental consequences.He called for efforts centred on preventive measures in order to warn the citizens of the risk factors through public campaigns, conveyed by the media, at schools, communities and families.According to Carlos Pinto de Sousa, the accident issue is not restricted only to Luanda, but also in other cities and on roads.
