435 complaints lodged with Ombudsman’s Office
Luanda, Luanda – The Office of the Ombudsman last year recorded a total of 435 complaints from citizens appealing against the rulings of public organs of administration of justice.The information was released by the ombudsman’s assistant, Maria da Conceição Sango who told Angop that half the above cases were settled. She said that in many outstanding cases, the justice urged those involved to provide supporting evidence of their cases which they failed to do. While considering the performance of the institution satisfactory, the official said there are files currently being handled. Maria da Conceição Sango mentioned land tenure, reinstatement of vehicles borrowed by the State during the war, social support quarrels and others are the main type of cases lodged with the Ombudsman’s Office.
