4,000 vehicles licensed for taxi service
Luanda, Luanda - At least 4,000 private vehicles for taxi service were from June to September this year licensed by Luanda Transport Authority (ATL), ANGOP has learnt. According to the coordinator of the sector, Amadeu Campos, were licensed light and heavy vehicles. Amadeu Campos highlighted the collaboration in legalisation process of association of taxi and truck drivers and machine operators in Angola in the mobilisation of its members, to adhere to licensing process. According to him, by the end of the process in December, is expected to license about 6,500 vehicles for taxi service. The ATL is a local public institution, created to organise, coordinate and supervise the entire transport system in the province of Luanda, without prejudice to the powers of the Ministry of Interior and the General Command of National Police. ATL was established by decree of the Cabinet Council and carries on business under the supervision of technical and methodological of the Transport Ministry and is a functional body of the Provincial Government of Luanda (GPL).
