40 Congolese citizens repatriated over illegal stay

Mbanza Kongo ,   Mbanza Kongo - About 40 citizens have been repatriated over the last week to the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) over illegal stay in the country’s northern Zaire province, Angop learnt Thursday. The information comes in a press note released by the Migration and Foreigners Services (SME) in Zaire province. According to the source, the repatriation process was carried out through the river crossing checkpoints of Kimbumba (Soyo) and in land checkpoints of Luvo (Mbanza Kongo) and Buela (Kuimba). The note also mentions 19 other citizens from DRC Congo and one of Congo Brazzaville as having been questioned in connection with the illegal stay in the country, as well as three national citizens for helping and promoting the illegal immigration. On the other hand, seven DRC citizens were refused to enter the country. Speaking on the border regular movement, the source recorded the return of 326 Angolans from DR Congo and the exit of others 591, as well as the entry into Angola of 59 foreigners and the exit of 39 others.
