1º de Agosto's runner wins "Women and Sports Cup"

Athletics, Luanda - Long-distance runner of 1º de Agosto club, Madalena Correia, this Saturday here won the third edition of the "Women and Sports Cup" in a race covering 5,5 kilometres starting at the Heroines Square and ending at Coqueiros stadium.Madalena did not face great difficulties in the veterans’ category, in a competition that counted on the participation of females aged between 6 to 70 years.The second position was occupied by the 13 year-old Telmira Joaquim of 1º de Agosto, whilst Rode Eduardo, an individual athlete, occupied the third spot.In the category of disabled athletes, Rosalina Guilherme was placed first and Eunice Lurdes followed, whilst in the first position for the ruling MPLA party's women wing (OMA), Matilde Ramboy of 52 years stole the race, and Fátima Kalengo, of 53 years clocked the second fastest time, with Maria Pinto, of 47 years occupying the third position. The event was attended by 90 ladies from different regions of the country's capital (Luanda).
